Drawn from an archive of photographs and images, these works function as projections from mise-en-scène, photojournal logs, ciné-roman captions, and reportage transcripts, translated onto the flat plane of paper as a screen.

Through the context of the quotidian, the drawings explore a lexicon of contents of the city environment through story. Inbetween polarities image and the gaze, voice and language, these tensions blur and unfold visual modes of meaning within this liminal space — the temporal intervals between events, in contrast with conventional narrative plot structure.

In a present era often described as “post-truth,” consciousness appears both factual and fabricated. Ethnographic approaches in photojournalism and technical devices from New Wave cinema — such as narrative voice devices guiding the plot — interact with the ways fiction and reality overlap. Together they simulate how we frame and interpret a nonlinear world.
