Drawing on the memory of cinematic transport, and working in collaboration with hand-printing processes, Roberts reimagines the silver screen through her black-and-white photography and carefully selected found images. These works evoke a sense of the immense, with dark undertones and saturated tones, held within a contemplative time frame. Each portrait or cityscope captures a complex stillness and layered emotional atmosphere.
